Writing - Type up a good copy of your story. Bring it on a USB or email it to yourself so we can continue to work with it at school for a published format. March 1

Socials - Newspaper Article - Tell the story, or part of the story, of your assigned war using these criteria:
1. Based on fictional interview
2. Include some made up names, dates, quotations
3.Dynamic Headline
4. Detailed coloured picture

1. Climate Change Showdown due Feb. 28th.
2. Math 6-p. 72 q. 1, 5. Math test Feb. 29th.
3. Hot lunch money must be in tomorrow.
4. Thank you to those who have brought in a box of tissue. We still need some more.
5. We need small metric scales for Science on Monday. Please bring one in with your parent's permission.
6. Hip hop dance presentation Friday Feb. 24th @ 1:00 pm.

Feb. 20th Homework

HACE - finish sleep cycle diagram. Choose one letter about sleep problems and write a helpful response to it, using the information available at kidshealth.org  Due Feb. 23rd.
Socials - Read the information about the Greek war you chose. Take notes about the key events and complete the Reporter note page. Due Thurs Feb. 23rd.
Writing - Edit your short story and use your editing checklist to make sure all areas have been checked. Due Fri Feb. 24th.
Math - draw 8 quadrilaterals, as listed. Include some irregular quadrilaterals. Measure the inside angles and check that the 4 angles add up to 360 degrees. due Thurs Feb 23rd.

February 16 Homework

Writing - Short story draft due Monday Feb. 20th. Check to see that you have met your writing goal.
HACE - Stages of sleep - Draw the cycle and explain each stage. Due Feb. 26th
Sleep advice letter - Due Feb. 26th . Use the kidshealth.org website to complete these assignments.
Math Grade 6 - Draw 8 quadrilaterals, measure their angles and see if they add up to 360 degrees. The last three are irregular polygons.
Socials - The Ancient Greece/Canada comparison was due Thurs Feb. 16. Please be sure to hand this in.
Current Events - The Debate summary is also due and needs to be handed in.

Feb.15 Homework

1. Creative writing rough draft is due Feb. 16.
2. Science chapter 4.1: Do definition sheet. Feb. 22
3. French-les verbes reguliers. Feb. 22
4. We need to borrow small scales, that one might use for weighing food portions, to help with our science class on weight and volume.
5. Please bring in a box a tissue. Our supplies have been depleted!

Feb. 13 Homework

1. Science: Chapter 4.1 Do definition sheet-due Wed. Feb. 15th
2. Math 6: p. 64-65 q. 1-3 & 10-due Wed. Feb 15th
3. French: Est-ce que tu joue....? 
4. Arrive at 6:30 am, bus leaves at 6:45, 8:15 arrive at Cypress, 8:30-9:45 get rental gear, 10:00-11:30 lesson, 11:30-12:00 lunch in lodge (they can pack a lunch or buy lunch, they will need approximately $20.00 to buy lunch), 12:00-2:30 ski/board with friends, 2:30 rental equipment return, 3:00 get on bus, arrive back at school between 4:00 and 4:15

Wear ski jacket and pants, mitts, neck tube, layers of clothing, goggles, SUN SCREEN and a helmet. Helmets will be provided with rental equipment.

Feb. 8 Homework

1. Math 6-p. 64-65 q.1-3 & 10
2. Skiing-we will be leaving the school at 6:45 on Tuesday Feb. 14th. Please be at school by 6:30 am so you do not miss the bus. The process of getting 80 children in ski and boarding gear is time consuming so we cannot leave late.  The school will not be open. Mrs. Black's class will meet by the door closest to the music room. If it is raining meet in the undercover area.
